Varallo’s Sacro Monte lies among the green woods on top of the Monte Tre Croci and represents the highest artistic and religious expression in the area.
Founded in 1491, Sacro Monte replicates and evokes the holy land of Palestine with its 45 chapels commemorating the stages of the life of Christ.
In this marvellous setting stands the hotel “Casa del Pellegrino”, immersed in a wonderful natural environment.
The building, now transformed into a hotel, was built around the “Cenacolo” chapel, where spiritual rituals used to take place and where it is still possible to admire the original frescos.
The hotel has 32 rooms, all with a private bathroom, telephone and TV upon request; some of them are furnished with antique furnishings, preserving their antique charm. Some other rooms, additionally, offer an incredible view of the town of Varallo, the valley, and the mountains.
Guests are also provided with two dining rooms, a panoramic reading room and a conference room with a maxi-screen, TV and video recorder.
Parking is available just outside the Reserve.
